Ethan is a multi-award winning illustrator and presented winner for Best Illustration Portfolio 2023.

With a love for the whimsical and beautiful mundane that surrounds us all. He believes that simplicity and impulsive creativity are the keys to discovering the true joys in life. 

From plein air painting in the Teton mountains to helping design kindergarten schools. Ethan’s career has spanned many years. Each is full of new and exciting adventures and challenges.

There is nothing seemingly impossible that cannot be defeated with the right amount of paint, imagination, and gnomes (don’t ask).

 

Ethan believes one of the most powerful ingredients for the illustration soup is patterned color brush strokes. Using warm and cozy earth-tone colors contrasted with cooler hues to paint a patchwork quilt of paints in each scene to convey a deeper and meaningful story with subtle whimsy sprinkled throughout.

With hidden secrets and surprises in each scene. Ethan works to make sure each element within every composition is there to intrigue and delight readers of all ages.

 

Ethan is an avid snack collector and takes his tea time and coffee very seriously.

He is married, with two wonderful sugar bugs, three Guinea pigs, and a teeny tiny mouse. Spending most of his days painting, enjoying the beautiful outdoors, and searching for the ever-elusive desert gnomes.
